PLEASE NOTE: In the event of a burglary or theft loss, you must report the occurance to the police department. Also all claims for loss or damage must be made before you vacate your unit. A.P. Reid will have an adjuster contact you immediately to look after your claim promptly and fairly.
The Simplest answer we can give to this question is NO.
Some Homeowners and Tenants Insurance Policies give some form of limited coverage for storage. This coverage is sometimes for Theft only, or a low limit of say $500, and usually has limitations on the type of property insured, and for how long.
If you believe that your Own Insurance covers this property, call your Agent or Broker and find out for sure.
• Fire
• Lightning
• Windstorm
• Earthquake
• Theft
• Vandalism
• Explosion
All Losses are subject to $500 Deductible. The maximum the insurer will pay in any one loss is the limit specified on the application.
The Tenant is responsible to carry enough insurance to replace 100% of the property in storage.
Premiums are due to be paid in full to the Self Storage Facility on the effective date of coverage and every four weeks following for coverage to be in effect.
For your protection, a storage facility provides a written agreement. Read it thoroughly and ask the storage consultant to answer your questions.
Make note of your payment date to see if the agreement covers prorated rental periods. Also, find out how and when your security deposit is refunded or forefeited upon termination of the agreement. If you change your address or phone number, be sure to notify the storage facility in writing.
