Yes, our buildings are design to keep the air circulating at all times which in turn does not allow for moisture to build up. So whether you choose our heated storage spaces or our unheated storage your goods will always be fine.

What type of security features does your storage facility offer?
Our facilities offer the most up to date security features available. Our facilities are all equipped with computer controlled access, individually alarmed units, 24 hour alarm monitoring and a gated secure property.

How will you know if someone tries to enter my storage unit without my permission?
If someone tries to enter your units without your key and your unit specific code an alarm will sound both at our facility and at a monitoring station. As well, our alarm system will print out a report telling us that an alarm has occurred in your unit.

How do you keep track of who goes in and out of your property?
Our computer controlled access system give us a print out every time someone enters their code, opens their door, closes their door and when they exit the site. That way we can track everyone who is on site and how long they spend in their unit.

Do you have dollies and cart I can use to make moving in to storage more convenient?
We have dollies and carts available on site for your use, as well; if you are receiving a shipment on a pallet many of our sites also have pallet jacks available on request.

Do I need to get insurance for my goods while they are in storage?
Insurance offers a peace of mind and although we do not require that our tenants have insurance we do recommend they do. If you currently have a home owner’s policy you should check to make sure it covers you in self-storage many policies do not. If you don’t have coverage we offer very low cost tenant insurance for your convenience.

Do I have to sign a long-term contract?
The beauty of self storage is you only rent it for the time you need you are not tied into anything long term. When you first rent the space you must pay for the first four weeks and then you can rented it weekly for what ever time you require.

Can I have deliveries sent to my unit even when I am not at the facility?
The staff at Atcan will be happy to receive any deliveries you may receive, we ask only that you sign a delivery waiver and leave us a key and then your deliveries will be put in your space when they arrive.

What do I need when I rent the space?
The day you come to rent your space you will need your first four weeks rental payment plus any applicable taxes; your $20.00 refundable deposit; a padlock for the space (we have them for sale in the office) and your insurance premium if you require it ($2.15/$1000 of coverage) and two pieces of identification and alternate contact information.
